William has now gained almost 30 years of Leadership and Management Development experience, both as a leader and now as a practitioner developing leaders, with over 10 years of that as an Executive Coach working within a broader portfolio of organisations.
He has worked across a number of cultures: he has recruited, led and coached global teams for 7 years; lived and worked in the US for 2 years; and has worked as a coach and facilitator with leaders and managers from all over the globe.During that time he has coached senior leaders and delivered as part of wider talent development programmes in central government, European government, consulting, health, financial, engineering, IT, insurance, pharmaceutical, publishing, utility and media. He also has experience of facilitating and group coaching experience gained both in his role as a part time university senior lecturer (since 2009) and working for organisations developing leadership skills for managers and leaders.
William follows a managed eclectic approach to his coaching and facilitation, which is based on a mixture of psychological and philosophical approaches and positions. These include neuro-linguistic psychology, Gestalt, cognitive behavioural, person centred, positive psychology, Transactional Analysis and multiple intelligences (including emotional intelligence). He has a particular interest in linguistics and draws from a number of models and tools to work with clients, including META model, LAB (Language and Behaviour), Clean Language, metaphor, narrative coaching and Speech Acts.
William has a masters degree in Coaching and post graduate qualification in teaching; together with the experience of taking a wide range of practical coaching, psychology and performance courses. He is an accredited ICF coach at PCC level. He has undertaken the training from the British Psychological Society in psychometrics. The key psychometric tools that he is accredited to use are the Hogan set of leadership/personality tests, Emotional Intelligence (Bar-on EQ-i 2.0), Dimensions (Factor 5 personality test), ILM72 (Leadership), MTQ48 (Resilience), iWAM (motivation) and Extended DISC® (personality including group dynamics). He is also a certified 360º Feedback provider (training provided by BT) and has delivered feedback for Thomson Reuters, UK senior civil service, Citi, Aviva, ICON and BT. He also designed the 360º instrument and ran the rating process for Citi.
